Independent testing showed that a Grundfos SQE pump only will function on a deep cycle 12 volt battery and modified sine wave inverter which meets Grundfos approved ratings of 110% of P1 applicable to each model. Testing also showed that a true sine wave inverter which meets Grundfos approved ratings of 110% of P1 applicable to each model should be used for the complete Grundfos Smartflo System.

NOTE: The MSE3 motors for SQE pumps
are built to withstand up to a 4000V transient spike (IEC 60664-1,
Overvoltage category III). However, lightning can generate voltages that
exceed this level, and additional transient protection devices are
recommended to protect the submersible motor in areas with a high degree
of lightning activity. The following transient protection device has
been tested successfully together with SQE pumps, and can therefore be recommended:
