- Self-Priming Design:
- Once pump is primed it never needs priming again even if water level drops below the end of the suction pipe. Pumping resumes once the water level rises above the end of the suction pipe.
- Serviceable:
- Back pullout design allows disassembly of pump for service without disturbing piping. Two compartment motor for easy access to motor wiring and replaceable components.
- Diffuser (Guidevane):
- Bolt down diffuser provides positive alignment with impeller. Diffuser also has stainless wear ring for extended performance in abrasive conditions. F.D.A. compliant, injection molded, food grade, glass filled Lexan® for durability and abrasion resistance.
- Impeller:
- F.D.A. compliant, glass filled Noryl®. Corrosion and abrasion resistant.
- Corrosion Resistant:
- Electro-coated paint process is applied inside and out, then baked on.
- Casing:
- Cast iron construction. 4 bolt, back pull-out design. Tapped openings provided for vacuum gauge and casing drain.
- Powered for Continuous Operation:
- Pump ratings are within the motor manufacturer’s recommended working limits. Can be operated continuously without damage.
- Mechanical Seal:
Competitive sellers don't go to the extra effort required to ship this pump safely. Even when shipped from the Gould's warehouses these pumps in their factory carton may not meet UPS or FedEx content packing requirements to honor a shipping claim. The factory box was designed to ship in quantity on pallets. Risk of damage is high when this pump is shipped using the factory supplied box only. We repack this pump as described below for our guarantee to deliver a new undamaged pump to your door. Your time is too important to make a risky purchase. Plywood, bolts/nuts, Styrofoam packing, banding supplies and labor are all included in repacking. The pump is removed, bolted to a plywood base, the rear of the motor is supported by a block of Styrofoam and then banded to the plywood base. The pump is then reinstalled in box adding Styrofoam to protect the motor’s rear electrical cover. The factory box is then stapled and banded twice for support. The hand carrying holes are taped over so the box must be carried from the bottom. Our experience since these modifications in 2006 has eliminated shipping damages.
